General discussion If you aren't sure which forum your post would be best housed in, post it here. Some posts and threads may eventually be moved to other forums.............

Can't find a place to post my enquiry but it says general discussion so thought this was the place but looked at the posts and they have pics not really discussion.

Anyway I asked this question many moons ago and it still pees me off.
Why is this the only site on line that the post "disappear off the edge of my screen"
Left side has adverts that mask a few words and the right side masks off about 10 words....think someone said something about it being my screen last time...so how come its only this site.
If I scroll to see the right it hides the adverts but can I justify your pages permanently to fix the problem.

    Re: General discussion

    Hi Keith -

I thought this kind of thing only happened to me.

However, this site appears quite normal on my screen.

I don't know what to suggest.

    Regards. Barr1e

What size is your screen and what browser (and version) are you using?

        Re: General discussion

On the right hand side at the bottom of my screen there is, just above the time and date, an option to change the display size. Have you got this set to high?
Regards Ron. Live each day as if it was your last. One day you will be right. Down sized to Nikon s7000 compact camera.

The monitor is a Philips 170S..pause for laughter.

                  Re: General discussion

This monitor has an adequate display resolution of 1280x1024 so unless your graphics is incorrectly set then everything should be displaying fine.

Which version of Windows are you using?

                      Re: General discussion

OK, you are using Chrome for browsing and that looks like Windows Vista.

I suspect that you have set your display to 1024 pixels wide. I'm pretty sure your monitor is natively 1280 pixels wide so 1024 is not good for display quality. You need to check in Control Panel - find the Display icon in Control Panel and check the resolution set. If you can't make the resolution greater than 1024 then it's likely you don't have the correct display driver set for your computer.

Above is Chrome running on my laptop (1366 pixels wide).

And this is about the narrowest you can go without impinging on the corners (1177 pixels, but comfortably narrower than 1280).

                        Yes Chrome
                        Yes Vista...(sorry).
Can't find anything in Control panel......I believe any monitor setting should be as it was when I had it.

                        Heres my control panel.

                          Re: General discussion

Try following the instructions here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/w...een-resolution

You may need to click on the Control Panel Home link to find Appearance & Personalisation.

When you find the display resolution slider you need to see if it is set to 1280x1024 or 1280xsomething - basically 1280 pixels wide.

If it is, then the only thing I can think of is that you have zoomed the font size up...
