  • Photographs into Art

With the power of Image Manipulation Software ever increasing, at what point would you consider the Photograph has transformed into a work of Art.

    or

If the end result originated from a photograph, can it still be regarded as a photograph.

E.G. I have an image onto which I add a layer and then draw by hand, onto that layer the elements I want, then throw away the original image.

There are many filter effects I could have used, on the original image, to get something very similar.

So is it a photograph or art?

    Neither, it's a tracing .

Seriously, artists used camera obscura which comes to the same thing. It is art.

I suppose something like this would qualify.

The subject was worked with just the smudge tool and layered. Starburst was put behind the layer. About an hours work.

A lot more graphic, but I like what you have done. I'd take the B&W to the limit with just Black and White.

All done with PS - Line tool, Transform "Warp" and the paint bucket to fill in a pattern.

Still very much a work-in-progress or maybe just a "draft idea"
