GN Mode - Any takers
How hard would it be for manufacturers to provide a GN function 
Given the communications between camera bodies, flashguns & lenses, GN exposure control should be a simple matter of programing.
The GN Lens, of old, was very popular with the press, as it provided control of the aperture, based on the focus distance for a fixed power flash gun (bulb). This mode would actually be quicker than modern TTL as there would be no pre-flash required. The lens aperture would simply be set according to a direct relationship to the distance of the subject, determined by the auto focus.
It may well allow the burst rate of flash photography to be higher than current flash modes that include pre-flash. Fully manual shooting is often faster than fully automatic, so theoretically GN Mode may be of value.
Not sure I'd have a lot of use for it, but it would be fun to play with some old (very fast) guns for some high speed sequence shoots.
