Finding new posts

Having trouble with this, i click new threads (which to me makes no sense as its often new posts not threads) i get a list click one to read go back page for the next and they are often gone.

It would seem that this new forum software still needs tweaking. Ian has done a very good job moving the forum over to this lastest software. As someone who also runs and builds forms myself, I appreciate the amount of work he has done. I'm sure he will continue to adjust thing for the better as and when he gets time. Any suggestions like the one mentioned here should be PMed to Ian to put on his ever growing to-do list.

I think this was not a complaining just a thought. I appreciate Ian's work as well I was long time in his other forum

Thai-Mike I was not taking it as a complaint, Just feel we should give Ian time to implement features that are not Bog Standard. I too would like this added to the forum.

I tend to think that maybe Mikew and Thai-Mike may be referring to the New Posts button that has been applied to the e-group forum.

I found that to be a very useful button and have mentioned so, to Ian.
I am hoping that it can be applied here. It makes things so much quicker to find new posts this way.

There is now a new tab on the navigation bar called 'New Posts'

Currently, it shows a list of threads updated and added in the last 24 hours.

On the other forum there was a request for additional lists to display 2 days and aweek's worth of new posts/threads, which I can also make here.

The order in which the lists are displayed can also be customised.

Let mw know if you would like me to try out various permutations

I like the idea of since last visit but not sure its working properly, used it and got a post i had commented on during my last visit so it should not have shown up.

I think comments are treated different to replies. Since latest I believe only works with post replied to.

Still dont think it should have come up though, its early days though.

I think you are right, Ron. At least that is how it was when the new forum started.
