One of my Pentax cameras was once dropped onto a soft sand dune. I was horrified but there was no damage. It only had an old Tamron 28-300 lens attached at the time and that was also ok, though we spent some time blowing t he lens clean with a hurricane blower.
I have the latest sealed lenses now and I ain't gonna test them on a sand dune or under a jet of water - but it's nice to know the kit would probably be ok if I slithered down a dune again and ended up in a huge puddle.
