Canon 430ex Question

Has anyone got one of these guns as I'm trying to find out how it behaves when used as a 'slave' as it only has a on/off switch not on/off/se like the 550.

I am using 550's and can set them so they will not turn off, ever, which is what I want. Or, they can be set to turn off after an hour or 8 hours which the 430 may have.

So, can the 430 be set the same via the custom functions.

Actually, I have just found an online manual. It's a rough scanned job but it's ok.

I see you can enable/disable 'auto power off'

Also, you can set the 'slaves auto power off time' to 10 or 60 mins.

Looks like it's similar to my 550's.

I would like to know for sure though before buying.

Whilst yer here, please could you have a look at the thread HERE and maybe help and advise Guy about possible lenses for a 400D. He's asking for somnething suitable for shooting for Birds/Wildlife.
