  • Having fun

Decided it was time I got the old slides and negatives out of the attic and got them scanned. I had tried a few years ago with one of these dedicated wee boxy things and was less than impressed so I bought myself the HP Scanjet G4050. Excellent for photos. Slides and negatives are definitley showing their age though. 30+ years for some of them in the attic and three or four house moves have not been kind to them. Having said that my biggest problem is loading tham and then reminiscing! Some of them literally rolling on the floor laughing at! Will post some soon just for a laugh!

Sounds like an interesting project. A sort of memory revival thing.

Mmm - Anne has several stored away her father took over the years. He was an avid taker of pics and had many published - the Telegraph rather enjoyed printing some of them.

It would seem you have a fun project to see you through the winter and I look forward to seeing them.

digitalization of film assets - a task I have not even touched either. although trying to keep them in (hopefully) good conditions. I, too, bought a scanner 10 years ago but never used it for that purposes, saying justification words to myself --- "the scanner quality is not that good..."

Keep us informed as the project goes ahead.

Well, that is them done for the next few weeks. Could be a longer job than first envisaged :-) Back to Naija tomorrow for 6 weeks. Then off to Vegas for a week but maybe a few days in Jockland in between.
