    Dear All,

Just wanted to encourage anyone who is thinking of selling their pictures to just do it.

My website went live last week (Monday) and today I sold my first A3 print via it. Feels great.

By the way I used http://www.clikpic.com/. Really easy to set up and link to paypal.

    Best Regards

    Josh

      Re: Trumpet blowing

The website does not seem to give much detail as per criterea etc. without which it appears to be just a personal photograph album builder.
      For instance.....
Inclusion in the Clikpic image library
It is entirely at the discretion of Clikpic whether your web site is included in the CUSTOMER SITES section of the main Clikpic web site, www.clikpic.com, and therefore in the image search and library system.

I don't seem to be able to find any info which governs their 'discretion'

Congrats on your sale .. you must feel 10' feet tall

        Hey!
Nice one Josh, it sure is a great feeling isnt it. Reading the profile on your site, it states that you check the prints yourself. I was under the impression that clikpic done all the printing for you?

I have a Deviantart website, and have sold a number of prints though there, they take a percentage but do all the leg work. So if others are reading this, and are a little more lazy like myself, click on the link at the bottom in my signiture to take you to deviantart. hehe!

Hopefully my laziness will subside this year and I will get my backside in gear and set up something like you Josh, so thanks for the link as this looks ideal.

I would also like to add that your website looks very professional, and should attract a few more hits, congratulations, and I hope you sell many more!

        Cheers,
        Ben

          Thanks All,

The Clikpic thing has worked for me. They help you link your site to paypal and when an order is placed I get an email telling me the money is in my account and the name of the buyer, their delivery address aloing with the size name and ref number of their required print. I then either use my R1800 with Epson premium paper or send the order to Photobox to fulfill. The prints all go through me to ensure I am happy with the quality and then they are despatched. Simple as that.

I got 500+ page hits from 44 visitors who together visited 59 times. Generated through a launch flurry of emails to friends and friends of friends. From that I had 8 queries and 1 order. So not quite ready to give up the day job yet. (LOL)

I have a portfolio of various prints from certain Berkshire towns and my next step is to get promotional cards made to be distributed to local offices to get web traffic up. might work, might not

I seem to have become addicated to the thrill of selling.

          Best Regards

          Josh
