  • Now a camera that doesn't take pictures

    After yesterday's camera lens that can see behind itself, we have a camera that doesn't take pictures. You trigger the shutter and a printed not of what the camera thinks it is seeing is produced, but no actual image See:

    A camera which develops written descriptions rather than pictures has been created by a student in New York.


    It's not an April fools joke as far as I can see...

    Wow, that's really taking the art out of photography.

    I wonder what would happen if you combined this camera with yesterday's super fisheye lens? You'd probably just get a note saying, "It's behind you!" Great for photographing pantomimes!

      Some artist did this years ago, with a card describing what he would have done, had he done it, in place of the actual picture.

      There's very little new under the sun these days

      I think I'll produce one that only stores images that are good. That way I can get some use out of my 32Mbyte XD cards
