My High Definition TV has a "spare" HDMI socket. Any recommendations on how to make use of this when displaying images on the TV for 'er indoors? Ideally I'm looking for a network device, either wired of preferably 802.11.
I've more or less discounted the ROKU HD1000 media player because of bad reviews and the fact that the manufacturer has stopped producing it. Shame, because it looked to be exactly what I'm looking for.
I currently use a Linksys WMA11B Media Adaptor for streaming both pictures and MP3s off network drives to the TV & stereo. It does what it says on the tin but the image quality is poor, even using SVHS. I think the unit converts pictures itself on the fly to a low quality jpg irrespective of the quality or size of the originals.
