This is a negative that I scanned for an old lady, it was taken in the 1960's approx. She thought it was in Nottingham Castle but it isn't so I am trying to find out where it was taken.
If anyone recognises the location I would be grateful if you could let me know.

Looks like there may be a band stand at the top of the steps and the background housing could well indicate it being a small memorial park.
Thanks for looking Kurt, I don't know if it could be Cheltenham or not, apparently the woman in the photo and her husband travelled quite a lot in the UK so it could be anywhere. Do you recognise the picture as possibly being in Cheltenham?
It put me in mind of Cheltenham because of the gardens and I remember there used to be some steps and ballustrade similar to those in the photo, but it is many years since I visited. Also it looks as though the surround area is on the level. I remember similar ballustrade in Leeds, but don't recall gardens near them, though I could be wrong. It could equally be be Bath.
