  • So Many Tutu's, So Little Time

i have photographed hundreds of dance students in between weddings and commercial assignments. not bragging, just making a polite excuse for not being around much lately. one thing i have learned about this business is it's either all out or nothing, one either has time or money but neither the two in the same period. well if you begin to think that i'm here too much, kindly take up a collection.

This is such a happy picture. I love it.

Full of the exuberance, energy and joy of youth. Opening up into full bloom just like the flowers in the background.

You're excused for your absence as you clearly used the time well.

How on earth the young lady managed to hold that beautiful smile while leaping around like that is beyond me.

there are times that no matter how good you think that you are photographically,
it gets down to "more luck than skill."

last night's wedding, up market country club with all magistrates and lawyers wore my butt out (mentally and physically). back to tutu's and another big wedding saturday. years ago i saw a guy get up to participate in communion in small catholic church during a wedding. there were 75+ waiting outside from over crowding with the doors open for air and that maybe those folks could hear some of the ceremony. they were trying to run two lines coming forward and one returning down the middle of the aisle. the aisle could handle at most 2 people at the same time (on slim fast). anyway, this old boy had a heart attack and hit the floor. back in those days they didn't stop communion for anything. people were stepping around and over this guy in both directions. finally two guys from the back grabbed his feet and drug his butt out the back door while the show went on. if by now you wondering what the hell this has to do with tutu's, this is how i envision my retirement.
            some people have 401K's, i got 911.

According to the Urban Dictionary, "full tilt Boogie" is a phrase used to express the process by which something/someone acts in an extremely focused and aggressive manner in the pursuit of a goal.

Here's a link with more details and explanations.

Good to see you back and I think the image of the dancer is a pearler.
