  • Ban on Cameras at the Olympics

It is being said that high power zoom lenses, both big and small may not be allowed into Olympics sites.

If certian types of cameras/lenses are banned from being used at the Olympics, will this stop you going

Re: Ban on Cameras at the Olympics

If I had the chance to go, I still would and try to make the best of it. However I would not spend a lot of money to get ground level seating.

What sucks is that a lot of places would ban our larger cameras but allow the thousands of P&S and camera phones.

Re: Ban on Cameras at the Olympics

In what looks like the script from the BBC TWENTY TWELVE Series, it is reported that " ''This is all work in progress, and guidelines are under discussion.' "

Interesting to see how this goes and how they get round "Contract Law" if they change the conditions of entry after you have purchased the ticket...

I wonder if this would infringe 'human rights'?

I know that the policies vary greatly at big public events, with some being very relaxed about photography. So let's keep our fingers crossed!

If I claim my 300mm is an "Aid to Vision" and they refuse me entry, is that not in breach of the DDA

You could always try. Y'know how cash-strapped lawyers are.

I know much of the world has gone completely mad, but I can't believe that there is any truth in this ban.
