  • Problems with Threads

I'm still experiencing huge problems trying to read the last few replies to Assignment & Challenges Forum....or any that have multiple depths or layers! Last time I mentioned it, I was advised to go to an Icon....what icon ....where? I've tried numerous ways...going to the last entry...but with this I can't get it to go backwards for past couple of replies! When I go to the NEXT arrow....it works for a number of times...then it returns to the beginning again,,,when Ian started the challenge 4 weeks ago! It just seems so complicated...what am I doing wrong?

    Re: Problems with Threads

Hi Jocelyn, from the main forum portal page:

..you can see a 'last page' link at the end of the thread title.

Further to the right, the icon previously referred to is a small chevron in a box by the right of the name of the last person to post to the thread.

Or if you open the thread, at the top right of the page there is a section with links to a number of the pages, plus the 'last' page.

So that's three ways to go to the most recent page in the thread directly

      Re: Problems with Threads

Just a thought Jocelyn, you may need to change the viewing mode in the forum from threaded to linear. Sorry - I should have thought of this. The Display mode selector is near the top at the right, choose 'linear'.

It will all make sense after that!

Does switching the thread view to linear help?

What is that Ian? My problem is with large threads, like the "Where is it" one. The thread is so far to the rightmy bottom scroll bar is luck to be 1mm thick! I also find it very difficult to find the next post on a big thread. Put it down to being on my laptop.

Find the Display Mode selector (bottom right above or on the page near the top right) and if you are in 'threaded' mode, change to 'linear' mode. This should reveal the icon buttons I referred to earlier in this thread and manage the problem of over-wide windows. It will mean, however, that you lose the threaded headings at the top of the page. You could also try 'hybrid' mode, which combines the threaded and linear modes.
