Hi everybody, I'm still getting to grips with my new 30D - will submit something once I've learned to take the lens cap off Thought I would share this photo with you that somebody sent me via email. Any thoughts or ideas on whether it is genuine? Pretty cool photo anyway, eh?

Yes it seems this photo is doing the rounds via email But you haven't explained that the camels are actually shot from above and what you are seeing is their shadow. Afraid I don't see it personally I actually forgot it says something to that effect on the picture

Quite right Stephen. Yes, it may have help if I had pointed this out. The caption does indeed say that it was taken from directly overhead at sunset and that what appears to be the camels are in fact their shadows. The camels are the more modest white strips.

Yes, it's certainly genuine and is featured in the NG's latest book. Personally, I think it's quite beautiful, and a good example of how our brain can misinterpret something when we see it in a different perspective.
