What a disappointment thought I had stumbled on a rare BMW, its still rather beautiful even though its a Ford Granada in wolves clothes.

Well I can see why they chose BMW the grill is in the correct style, and wouldn't be for a Merc.

              Patrick,

Regardless of the ID and details about the car - I must say that's a very good photo, especially as it's off a mobile.

I was just thinking the photo lacked that crispness and detail you would expect from a higher spec camera. Of course it could be a crop

I didn't think it was that crisp, but I for some unknown reason used it zoomed in and of course mobile phone cameras don't have optical zoom they are interpolated so that could explain the loss of edge.

Out of interest here is a shot taken without zooming and then cropped, looks crisper to me, even the cropped one.

Lesson: don't use the zoom on a mobile phone camera, crop later instead when required in editing software.

I wan't saying it was top quality dSLR standard. I just feel it's a very worthy photo, excellent colours and detail, worthy of a very acceptable and decent print for anyone who wanted one.

I still stand by that opinion. Better a good shot off a mobile than none at all ... and that's a very acceptable shot imho.

It all goes to show how things have moved on, a couple of years ago we would have been gob smacked at this sort if image quality from a mobile phone.

Gob smacked indeed! I can't help wondering what'll be coming next.

I'm still using a 'brick' of a mobile. I only carry it for use in an emergency and texting. I need the big buttons so I can text more easily.

It isn't used very often though.
