Came across this video claiming to have the world's smallest stop action character.

Professor Fletcher's invention of the CellScope, which is a Nokia device with a microscope attachment, was the inspiration for a teeny-tiny film created by Sumo Science at Aardman. It stars a 9mm girl called Dot as she struggles through a microscopic world. All the minuscule detail was shot using Ce.....

Thanks Pol. Very interesting. We find out that the equipment was developed to say , allow doctors to take a microscope into remote areas and photograph and transmit them back home with a simple mobile phone for speedier diagnosis. And the "Dot" video was made to promote it.

That's right - and that's what I find so fascinating and impressive about it. It's a superb idea and a brilliant development. Wonderful development and use of modern technology that could be a real life saver.

I was also enthralled by the way they created the video. So well thought out, such intricate detail. The creators were all so interesting and charismatic too. They all looked as though they were really enjoying what they did.

A good friend from the late 60s worked an an animator artist for Halas and Batchelor. She mainly did medical illustrations and drawings for their specialist educational films but she also did the more general sort of cartoon drawings for layered animations.

I don't think she was especially well paid but certainly earned enough to support her student husband and their mortgage. She was very creative, very clever. Her cooking and dinner parties were legendary. Her food and dishes were always presented in and artistic way.

The interior of their home was also beautiful with some of her superb artwork painted directly onto the walls.
