It's amazing how frustrating waiting for a delivery is.

It's bad enough buying an expensive item like a lens which you haven't inspected from someone in another country whom you haven't met but the waiting to get it seems interminable.

I have been following the tracking (in German) and am now told, via babelfish

"The transmission arrived at the responsible person Hermes address and for the feed was sorted."

I bet I'm out when they try to deliver it.

      Voigtlander Nokton MC 35mm f1.4. Can't afford a Summilux.

Chiefly for my Leica M8 but it will also see the odd outing on Panasonic G1. 70mm (efl) f1.4 should be quite useful for portraits and f1.4 should give reasonable depth of field control on the G1, though the G1 will always be second choice for such applications.

        Re: Waiting

The couriers actually wait around the corner watching you house and as soon as you go out even for the briefest of moments they quickly dash to your door and leave a card saying you weren't in, they think it's funny.

If you refuse to leave your house they wait until you are shaving, showering or in the bathroom then ring the bell, keeps them amused.

If you don't do any of the above then they just wait until late in the day then deliver it, that way they have at least kept you waiting all day.

        It's true!! ;-)

          Nope

Came before 9:00am, I was in and lens is as new. I'm a happy bunny.

It's amazingly small for the aperture and seems beautifully built, really precise. Much better then the early Color Skopar Voigtlanders.

We have a camera club outing tonight so I'll take it along.
