I'm with Andrew on this one - never had much time for Mr Rockwell's opinions myself.

Re: Do you FART before snapping?

I don't think that Ken Rockwell prefers jpgs to raw files, the point he was making in one of his articles was that professional photographers who could take several hundred images in a day would find it too time consuming to process all those images from raw to a format that could be used in a newspaper or magazine for instance. I think this was the article:
              http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/raw.htm

In other parts of this website he says that he will sometimes shoot RAW+jpg then if the jpg's are OK he will discard the raw files, otherwise if the jpgs need tweaking he has got the RAW files to fall back on. This seems sensible apart from the fact that a prolific photographer would soon fill up his or her memory cards!

The majority of my snaps are jpgs but I will shoot raw if I have a tricky lighting scene.

That reminds me, what happened to the PhotoFix 5 challenge that Ian set? I've not seen the result of the voting yet.

              Geoff.
