    Just to test the quality of an image shown as an attachment against one from the gallery

    Great idea to test this. However I have a problem comparing the images as they present very differently. One is on a white background the other black and they are different sizes.

    Have you drawn any conclusion yourself ?

      Apart from the fact that the large image and the attachment are the same picture but in fact different files (my mistake) I found that the attachments were being over compressed on upload, then when they opened with the black background, the physical dimensions were larger than the file uploaded. I had felt looking at images that had been attached did seem to lack the quality I had expected. The issue of over compression has now been addressed and there is minimal (5% I think) compression which is the minimum. In that sense then the exercise was worthwhile

        My only observation Stephen is that the Dog Notice is clearer on the one from your gallery.

        If I hadn't been trying to see "A Difference" I wouldn't have noticed. They both seem OK to me.
