  • I'm usually up at 4 am and was bored this morning so I sent the drone up to catch the morning sky over town.

I'm pleased you did rise early - very nice footage.

      • My new machine will allow me to fly more often than the *mini due to the winds *it can't cope with. I have been out most days and not been able to fly - humbug.
The weather forecast doesn't look good for either for the next few days - at least I can post a piccy when it arrives in the dry.

        • I had waited some days to video harvesting on this farm - imagine seeing the machinery in the next field only to arrive the following morning to see they must have worked through the night and I had missed out.

It was pleasing to use the new drone and learn a little more about it.

Sorry for the boring video but I hope you like the music.

It was there the previous day - returned the following morning and it had been harvested. I liked the patterns the machinery had left behind.

          • What a shame you lost out on the work being done. Looks like you will get a lot more use out of your new investment. Video quality is amazing and the drone appears to be very stable. With time your confidence will grow and I can imagine you will be producing some very interesting videos. Keep them coming.
Regards Ron. Live each day as if it was your last. One day you will be right. Down sized to Nikon s7000 compact camera.

            • Excellent video quality!

Mavic Air 2. 4K/60 fps and 48 mp photo. Amazing! I don't think I can convince Penny I need one though.

You mentioned video editing software in the Mixed Media thread. I'm surprised you still have access to WIndows Movie Maker. When I did a Windows 10 update, it wiped mine out. I bought Cyberlink's Powerdirector a few years ago and really like it. Version 18 is pricey: $130 USD.

She's a nice piece of kit Pat - you will have to raid the Kitty around birthday or Christmas.

I used to use Pinnacle with some success until they kept upgrading it making it very lumpy - so much so I recently deleted the program as I hadn't put it to use for a few years. I'm pleased to have the original Windows Movie Maker It is basic but works well.
I think the Mini takes some beating with its output as this avid YouTuber says in his latest blog on travel drones.

            • I discovered that my Osmo Mobile 3 Gimbal now as a Dyna Zoom feature. I think it's also called Dolly Zoom and movie makers have used the technique for years. The person appears to remain the same size while the background zooms in or out. Here's a short example of my neighbor posing for the test.

                Hi Ron -

                Thanks.

The drone has three settings Tripod - Normal + Sport - the latter being very fast for getting to A to B swiftly. Normal is very good speed wise and Tripod is like driving an automatic slow and smooth, obviously I enjoy the tripod mode. She's stable in winds but if it gets really gusty Sports mode is most helpful.
The quality of the drone is very good along with its photo and video settings.

                • Drones were a new thing when I purchased one, maybe I should have been braver and had a go at flying it. Sadly I sold it and often wonder if I could have mastered it. They sure have come on in quality and features. They must be great fun to use. I'm getting a lot of enjoyment following You and Pat on here. Do keep them coming. By the way Pat uses the same editing software as I do and I can highly recommend it.

                  • Thanks Ron.

Now I'm over the shock of getting flying the mini and it did take some courage I'm pleased I kept going The Mavic 2 is a delight to pilot and I'm sure when it's not raining and I've completed my chores she'll be up in the air.
I had hoped to see some harvesters out today but as seen in the pic the local farmers take a little from the fields and dry it ready for the next batch (heard similar on the radio today).
I must buckle down with a program that is easy to use.

                        • Wonderful colours Pat - our leaves are just turning but won't be nice that you achieve over in the USA and Canada.

                          Liked the filming.
