It's a new thing that PayPal and E Bay have started to protect the buyer. Also, it makes it easier for PayPal to refund the buyer, if a dispute is started and the buyer is right that they were sold faulty goods etc.
Same thing happened with the owner of another photographic forum when he sold his camera on E Bay. However, he pressed them and was paid earlier as the buyer had already left positive feedback.
