I hope you won't mind me saying this but ...Originally posted by straupenieks View PostPentax K10 plus Pentax SMC DA 18-55 -

I think one of the problems you may have here is that you're new to these forums and nobody knows anything about you. Also - you won't be able to post live links until you've made a few genuine contributions in these forums (I think you'd need to make at last 6 posts and preferably not all of them just trying to sell things).
Another point is that not many here are using Pentax kit.
If you are who I think you are ( having done a bit of searching) You have some very nice pics, some of them taken with the kit you're trying to sell.
How about uploading a few samples to your DPNow gallery space. Also maybe post something about yourself in the 'Hello' forum. That way people will see exactly who you are, where you are and what sort of photographer you are AND you'll have a few pictures here in your DPN gallery for them to look at.
Hope that helps.

Re: Pentax K10D, Takumar 300/4
Thanks for your advice, Pol. To be honest - I only registered here to sell my gear, as I am not overly fond of forums as such... Most of my stuff can be seen on my flickr page, I even doubt I stil have some of them anywhere else. Two laptop crashes -and you lose a couple of years worth of work.
P.S.
All of the kit is reserved or sold. Just the Super-Takumar still available. I guess i forgot to mention-it is m42 mount. Will give m42->pentax K adaptor away with it.

I'd hoped you might be tempted to stick around, maybe use the galleries and possibly join in some of the discussions but ... ne'er mind, eh.Originally posted by straupenieks View PostThanks for your advice, Pol. I really like your pics though.
My husband has been a Pentaxian for many years, still has his Spotmatic II stashed away somewhere along with heck knows what else. He has an adaptor and probably kit lenses tucked away too but they never see the light of day now. He won't sell them - just gets them out an 'fondles' them occasionally.
Anyway - I hope Ian won't mind but I'm posting a live link leading to your flickr stream - just so that people can see what a good results you got with the K10D + Takumar combination.
I think you'd probably need to post at least 6 times here before you can post a live link for yourself.
Regards
Pol

Re: Pentax K10D, Takumar 300/4
Wow, an original 42mm thread 300 f/4 - that must be from the late 60s. Most of the 300mm lenses I borrowed in the mid-70s were much cheaper f/5.6 examples
- and not premium brands!
Sorry if I missed the link - are there any sample images using the lens?

At web resolution at least - not a lot wrong there and the bokeh that's visible looks good too.

Will see if I can find anything better. It's a real pain to archive pictures, I need a better approach to it

Of course you won't get handy lens id info from this particular optic. Do you use any DAM software at all?Originally posted by straupenieks View Posthttp://img691.imageshack.us/img691/6643/igp8953.jpg

Re: Pentax K10D, Takumar 300/4
Nope, I just keep raws as much as possible and jpegs on external drive and dvd's. Sadly one of the drives went belly up, and I left most of my backup dvds behind when I moved to UK.
The problem with the management software is -it takes time to organize all that, and I don't shoot professionally, so it often just doesnt seem worth the hassle.

Re: Pentax K10D, Takumar 300/4
I reckon you should send some of your shots from that particular 300/4 to the Pentax Photo gallery HEREOriginally posted by straupenieks View PostPentax sold.

Super-Takumar 300/4
They only have 5 pics off that lens and only one of them off a K10D + the lens.
If you aren't already familiar with their gallery - go to the home page, wait for the option windows to appear (in a drop down options menu at the bottom left side of the page) then select Image Data - then Lens. They're on fly-out menus.
I'm sure they won't get many offerings from that combination and what I've seen of yours, they are more than worthy of a place in there. The galleries can be a tad slow to load sometimes and I don't know how long they take to accept and upload to the gallery but you should go for it.
