Beautiful location and you've done it justice with a beautiful shot. Those flowers in the foreground add a wonderful splash of colour too.

There's nothing even remotely like that near where we live! The best I could hope for locally would be a shot of one of the High St Banks, which is lit up overnight. However, I'd probably be arrested as it's lit up for security reasons.

Stephen I remember your pictures well, in fact after viewing them I was inspired to run hot foot to York and take my own. As I recall it was very crowded around the front of the cathedral and quite difficult to find a viewing position. I had forgotten about the light source been projected - don't know where I dreamt lasers up from.

I really like this.

Very evocative, reminds me of the sights,sounds, smells and activities of the farm that was opposite where I grew up.

Hello! Actually It is Between 9-10pm near the end of a day. But We are usually up before dawn to feed the bottle calves!Trust me it makes for a LOOOOOOOONG day! I wouldn't trade it for the world, I love it!

A far cry from the swimming pool decks of the old castle marine ships that used to ply the oceans years back...& we thought those were great back then. Used to travel on them every 3 years on trips from Mombasa to Cape Town or Durban. They took 14 to 17 days calling in at all the African ports along East Coast.
It seems with this photo that the lights may have been toooo bright! The sky looks like daytime blue!
