Hi Garry,
Both photos were hand held mainly because the spiders move fast and jump. I like to use a tripod normally to ensure a decent depth of field but a camera with the 105 Nikon lens and 1.4 tc was used.this time.

Thanks for the info, Gez. I assume the Nikon 105, is a dedicated macro lens ? ( I know nothing about Nikon I'm afraid )
