Re: My Image of the Day
I'm pleased you got such a good image of a swift - what an amazing bird.
Anne and I watched a pair swooping down to the canal a scooping up water on the go as it were. I was not quick enough to add a picture to the camera!
You certainly did well with yours - thanks for sharing.

I have attempted trying this in the past, without success.
I know how hard this is. Well done, Andy.

Re: My Image of the Day
We went out reasonably early yesterday in the hopes of photographing butterflies before the intended storms reached us.
Our first stop proved fruitless due to the gusty nature of the wind. Our second location produced the picture below – some butterflies about but difficult to take due to similar conditions.
Meadow track
Some forty minutes later our next meadow produced a darkened sky and then we got quite wet!

The sky in shot 2, does look threatening Barr1e.
I hope you both got in before the rain came.
What lens were you using ? These look quite wide angled.Canon 7D 50D 400D Canon 300mm f4 L IS Canon 70 - 200 f2.8 L IS Sigma 150 - 500 f6.3 OS Sigma 50mm f1.4

We were metres away from a pathway which got us cover in under a minute.
I note in my haste (early night and a very early start today - babysitting) I didn't check the lens used and put my standard set- up.
In fact the lens was the 12-100 Olympus - a great carry around lens which gives superb images (when I get the settings right).
I cropped at 16X9 as the pix were taken quite wide.
