Last night's fireworks in Ludlow, VT

I like this shot, Pat.

You must have used a relatively fast shutter speed for this. What was it please ?

There are different schools of thought for firework photos. Some like Tripod and slow shutter speed which produces a feather effect. ( Which I think Ian prefers )

But I like hand held, fast shutter speed, which usually produces the type of image you have.

I did the following:

Canon EOS XSi on a tripod. Manual setting with BULB, ISO 200, and F11. I just held down the shutter for a few seconds with each fireworks burst (sometimes multiple ones).

Looks now as though it was a long exposure. Surprised at that !

Amazing how good iPhone cameras are too.

I had a dish today from the specials listed on the board and have to say it was most enjoyable. Crispy battered sea bass ++

The photo is also very good. So often food doesn't photograph well. But this looks good.

This one was poking about for food in the park, I was about 30 feet from it and it just kept wandering about.
If I got to close it would just wander away a little.


It's nest in picture below had young in it but they wouldn't really show themselves.

I've been down to the canal as well. There was another barge off to the side as there was quite a queue coming upthe bottom lock at Banbury, then they have to wait their turn at the footbridge.

Not sure he'd come in at the right angle...
