The only thing I worry about with independent imaging hosting sites is that they might close without warning and leave the the forum with loads of empty image placeholders. Then there are sites like Photobucket that have stopped showing photos on independent sites. Flickr works well, I find. But I agree that PhotoPost we have been using here since the start of the forum is hard to use and is no longer supported or developed. On Four Thirds User I have upgraded the forum to version 4 and this necessitated a switch to a different gallery platform from Dragonbyte. However, it has fewer features than PhotoPost and some have had problems using it - which I'm investigating it.

I fully understand where you are coming from Ian. As I have said I too run a forum, a lot smaller than this one, and have been hit by the Photobucket change of service. Ok it gave me some extra work sorting things out but none of the members seem to mind the odd image missing. For what it's worth Postimage do promise never to delete your images. It's the shear convenience of being able to click on a button and select an image having the rest taken care of that my members love. Maybe I'm trying to teach you to suck eggs and I apologize if it seems that way. I just want to see this forum revitalised to how it was when my old friend Stephen was here.

PS How about you running one of your editing challenges which I always enjoyed. Still have the prizes I won thank you very much.

Can't even use postimages free. Not enough memory to upload images from kindle.

Tried that, thanks. Kindle died. out of memory. Only just coping with text only brief email. Saving remaining for urgent stuff only, banking etc
Hoping to hang on, want to stay in contact.
Son, Richard, at Johnston Press if I disappear altogether. He knows to let Ian know if I don't survive, sorry to be morbid.
Trying my very best to recover, as you already know.
I'm fairly certain Richard also has.address for Shoppy and Leevan
Down but not out yet.
