  • Quirky Sculptures

As a fan of many forms of art, I have taken a number of images of sculptures (or parts of sculptures) over the years.

I particularly like the lolling tongue and the rivets where the whiskers would be.

I would be interested to see any of your images, and a short message telling me what you particularly like or dislike about it.

Here is an old one that I came across while searching for an image for another thread.

    Kind regards,

    Kurt

I've alway been fascinated by this one at the Amsterdam Opera house.

I think it's the way it just seems to be exploding through the floor.

I think it's another take on the Manneken-Pis.

A couple of interesting sculptures. The violinist is a bit worrying! Is he exploding through or being eaten by the floor?

            Re: Quirky Sculptures

I took this many years ago at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park outside Wakefield. I was struck by the sci-fi impression a large fly could give.

Just take it easy. There's always tomorrow. And if tomorrow doesn't come, you won't have wasted any effort on it.

That fly is definitely a predator.

Nice one, Tom. You would have thought someone would have raked up a few leaves to keep him warm!

Some of you must have a sculpture or two in your archives.

In the meantime here is one from Norway. I like it because although it is an abstract different angles make you think of Viking Ships from one viewpoint and shrimps from another. I really want sardines to be in there because it the port was known for sardines in the past.
