  • Where I wouldn't mind being right now!

Here is a new themed challenge for you to get your teeth into.

I was idly looking through my Lightroom catalogue and came across this shot from almost the same time last year when I was in Greece attending a Sony Alpha launch event. Here was a shot taken at dinner one evening at the rather fabulous resort hotel where we were staying:

And I thought to myself - I wouldn't mind being back there right now!

So another idea popped into my mind - let's see other people's photos where they would love to revisit, so here is a new challenge thread to achieve exactly that! Do you have a favourite special place in a picture that you can post here? Let's see your pictures!

    You won't believe this

This is what I miss most .... walking the moors in any weather. On this day I was heading for Kinder Scout (Derbyshire Peak District)
I asked a passing walker to take this for me and he was kind enough to oblige.

I'd really like to revisit Creggenan Lakes in Snowdonia, I just loved the peace and tranquility I felt while there with the lake surrounded by mountains.

      Regards Paul.
One day I hope to be the person my dogs think I am.

I do believe it, Pops........because me too! Doing that sort of thing is what I miss most of all and would give anything to do it all over again, every squelching step of the rain-sodden way!

Haha, I was looking at these two in your gallery not half an hour ago!

              Anywhere but Connecticut!!

              Where to begin.....

Viewing the morning geysers at Yellowstone

              Strolling the canals of Amsterdam

              Cruising the Caribbean

              Skiing Lake Louise

Waking up to this view in the morning

Or waking up to the sunrise in Bermuda

              Mountain biking in Austria

The photo isn't very good but it shows the place I'd most like to return to

If you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much room.

Great stuff everyone - do keep them coming!

Especially like the damp hillwalker we fondly know as Pops!

Some of the places where I like to be 'on location'

Trundling around the marshes in the campervan

On a quiet beach (or watching and snapping other people on a beach).

Or wandering along Bexhill beach on a warm and sunny day.

I'm currently working on 1000+ pix of our recent travels around Scotland - more of that later.

We were blessed with about an hour's sunshine on Iona and almost got that special Iona light.

                      Beam me back Scotty.

                      Three on the beach

I was there two years ago and would love to return - this is a waterfall in the Pagsanjan river gorge in the Philippines. It's a couple of hundred feet high and taken from a canoe on our way to the big waterfall that is a tourist attraction upstream. The river and gorge were used for scenes in the movie Apocalypse Now.

                          The Grand Canyon!

This is me on a ledge inside the Grand Canyon with several helicopters out of shot that took us there I've lost about 20 pounds since that pic! It was 2008 while at the PMA show in Las Vegas.

There were actually two trips to the Canyon that year, once with Panasonic (and using a Panasonic camera) and once with Nikon - using a Nikon D60. The first two here are warmer images produced by the Panasonics.

And here is the Nikon shot - the Colorado river is just visible behind the helicopters:

                          Definitely want to go back!

I think this thread is brilliant, such great pictures being posted - more please.

                            .................................................. .........

Anne and I were fortunate on our Scottish trip as we happened to be staying at Ballater which is close to the village of Crathie. As most know this is where the royal family attend church when in they are staying at Balmoral.
The police of which there were many told us where to stand for getting a good pic of them. Unfortunately they didn't expect the car to be driven faster than normal - must be on time you know!

I learnt something new from this photograph, in that the mascot changes when the car is in Scotland.
