Hello there John, sorry for my tardy reply, my email notification doesn't seem to be working as it should
Anyhow, to the challenge, yes it is metal with a painted finish, liquid doesn't flow through it though. You wouldn't want to have liquid spill on this or what it's mounted on. I'll add it is a piece of domestic equipment that some homes these days will have
