It's not Mersea, Kurt, but that's much closer than Wales.

I'll give further clues tomorrow if nobody gets it in the meantime.

Having had a bit of a search on google, I think it's Felixstowe on t'other side of the country. Haven't been there for a good 40 years... my American relatives were based nearby so we'd either go to Felixstowe or Aldeburgh for a day trip.

Quick note, Kurt - 1600 pixels wide is huge for Web viewing

        I recommend 900 wide tops unless it's a pano.

That's close enough, Carol, it's Felixstowe Ferry, just around the coast from the huge commercial port of Felixstowe but completely different in character. The old boat sheds and small fishing and pleasure craft make interesting photographic subjects and there is an old-fashioned cafe that does great breakfasts and wonderful fish and chips. Over to you.

            Thanks John (or Google!)

Currently at work, so I'll have a think and post something this evening.

With Google's help (chateaux in loire valley) I'd say it was the Chateau Royal d'Amboise.

Cor, that was a bit quick... (note to self - avoid the Loire valley next time...)

Spot on John - it's actually the town of Amboise taken from the far side of the river.

                    Over to you..

John, that horrible church tower and the statue (St Brendan?) makes me think we are back in Ireland.

Here's the statue from another angle, showing some of the local topography.

You made it too easy with the Bantry estate agents notice. A shame that the cycle shop will go.

So we are in Bantry, Co. Cork.
