No, not Duxford, but it is another of the famous old aerodromes in Britain where they fly and restore old aircraft.

It's a British aircraft that I'm absolutely sure everyone here will have heard of.

      It's a Hawker Hurricane, but I don't know where.

[I posted to this earlier today, but it seems to have got lost in cyberspace]

So, here we go again: No, its not Duxford, but it is indeed one of those old WW2 UK airfields where they now restore old aircraft. There are a few twists to this, which I'll offer as future clues if everyone's still stuck...

The aircraft type was responsible for around 60% of kills by the RAF during the Battle of Britain.

Ah! I can now see my post and a response so I may have cache or cookie problems - I'll clear both.

          Yes, it's a Hurricane.

So, where's the restoration being done? It's rather a special process.

So, this is a hanger on an old airfield that's much better known these days for motoring associations than for flying ones.

            Any guesses?

If no-one gets there I'll post another photo in a day or two that will give the game away...

From that clue I'd go for Dunsfold.

No, although my wife's cousin used to live in Dunsfold so I know where you mean.
This is more famous: here's a snap taken this year a couple of hundred yards away from where they're restoring the Hurricane...

Correct! That was taken during the Auto Italia meeting, which is full of photo opportunities for anyone with an interest in Italian cars.

                    Over to you...

                            Is it Avebury Stone Circle?

No. Avebury's much bigger and the stones are upright. This one's in the midlands.

At first thought when you said "Midlands" I thought you meant the one closest to me (Rollright) but I've been there recently and can't remember ever seeing any earth works around any of the three monuments - so is this the Low Stone Circle in Derbyshire?
