We did it as part of a Baltic Capitals cruise and I felt it was a magical place as soon as I walked into the streets. It was a bit like the Magic Kingdom.
Of course we were only there for a few hours, but I guess you could spend at least 2-3 days there. I will try to sort out some more images.
Hi Audrey, is this a place worth visiting? It looks interesting in your photo?
Ian
I went there almost 22 years ago. It was really interesting. Beautiful old huildings and rubbish new ones - the Russians didn't seem to know how to make concrete without it being crumbly.
There was also an undercurrent of hostility by the Estonians to the Russians, and the local mafia ensured we went hungry at one restaurant b forbidding anyone to serve us for some strange reason.
That didn't work for me - possibly because I don't have a SkyDrive account?
Ian
Sorry it didn't work Ian. Any photographic attachment I make to my Email account seems to go by Skydrive (whether I like it or not!). I have e mailed you. Let me know if you can see the pics from there.
