  • New Year challenge

Ian has valiantly undertaken his picture a day task. I wonder if we could collectively set up something for 2012?

Two ideas, which I do not claim as original by a long way, include

1st of month - post your pictures showing your world on 1st of every month. Documentary rather than artistic.

    Picture a day/week (easier)

One volunteer undertakes in advance to provide a picture relating to a specific day/week. Administrator can help the idle regulars to volunteer.

Other better ideas and comments invited.

The underlying concept is to provide a glimpse of the lives, be they boring or exotic, of subscribers rather than high art.

    Hi Bill -

If I'm still around in 2012 I'll be delighted to join in the activity.

That 2012 was actually an edit of a typo - first version was 20112. I think we all may have moved on by then

      OK - 2011 - any thoughts people?

Sounds good to me. But first I'm moving this thread to 'Assignments and Challenges'

            Re: New Year challenge

I tried a Picture a Day challenge last year on flickr, and lapsed after about the first month. I still visit the group occasionally, and there are very few people who take great shots every day so, personally, I'd prefer a weekly task or theme.

I also follow daily shoot on twitter, which actually sets you a task but have only managed about 2-3 so far - being an American site, the tasks are posted rather late for me.
