  • Teach Them Young

I'm encouraged - I have set my granddaughter on the path to photography - she is just 4 1/2 years old. She manages to use Anne's or my lighter p+s with reasonable ease. She shows an eye for the subject chosen but needs advice on what to do of course. I hope her parents don't mind us buying her a 'Tough' camera for her next birthday, especially as I feel she has picked up the tog habit through Anne.
Below we see her with the rather heavy G-11 (for her) taking a pic of her dad.

That's a great shot, good for her!

For her second birthday, we bought our daughter one of the cameras especially designed for toddlers, and she loves it. Apparently the quality of those cameras varies massively between the various brands, so be careful which one you choose!

Here's my daughter with hers. At first, she couldn't work out that she had to point the camera at whatever she wanted to take a photo of, so we kept getting pictures of her feet. However, she's got the hang of it now, and has taken some pretty good shots - for a two year old, anyway!

Great holding technique and a good result.
