  • Waterfalls

There are some fantastic waterfalls in Iceland and we only scratched the surface. Here are 3 in the SW of the island

Lovely Stephen. They always make a good subject. Sometimes, the mass is so great and beautiful, it is difficult to pick a focus point with so much movement. Is that a Levada on the left of the fall in the second picture?

The best we have ever encountered were in Croatia - the Krka Falls - and I had never heard of them before going there.

Thanks Audrey, its actually a path, but frozen over due to the spray from the waterfall. They had closed it to the public presumably for safety reasons.

        Re: Waterfalls

Tremendous pictures Stephen I like very much the huge differential height between the waterfall and the woman and the sense of depth. Regards, Horacio.

I agree. Having a person in the frame really helps the perspective.

          Great pictures.

          Best Regards

            Re: Waterfalls

Thanks everyone. The last photo is known as Skogofoss, here is another one taken at the same falls with an Olympus 40-150mm lens. I was actually having to be very careful as the spray from the falls was drifing towards me and getting on the lens

              Great perspectives, Stephen

That park seat seems to have been positioned facing the wrong way if you ask me

                Re: Waterfalls

I love the 2nd one. The whole area looks so wild and untamed.
The noise must have been horrendous

I enjoy looking at waterfalls but not the taking of them. You are ahead in the craft of taking fine pix and you have done well.

Many thanks Barrie, though I don't understand your comment about not enjoying the 'taking' of them. I'm presuming you mean photographing them, but why would you not enjoy it
