got rid of this one (the photo not the bird )

Thought it was a bit to bright.
The sun lasted for around 10 minutes and then it chucked it down again

The highlights have indeed gone, but what a charming little fella!

My feeder's fat balls have started going mouldy

We do get pigeons and collared doves, and a robin on the feeder occasionally, but I do stress the word occasionally.

You'll find that fatballs are usually not required through winter unless you want to give the squirrels a treat
I do leave mine out because the jackdaws and rooks like a go at them.

Ah, that's interesting, I thought the winter would be prime time for this kind of food?

Ours can still get quite busy over the Winter actually. Starlings, spuggies, tits, Robins and pigeons all visit them and the foxes like to clear up any crumbs that fall onto the soil beneath. We don't get jackdaws ands Rooks - not so many Doves now either.

The peanuts and seeds seem to be most popular but the fat still gets eaten - especially by the Starlings.
