Granted it can be difficult to dinstinguish a female blackbird and a thrush but I'm as sure as I can be this one's a Thrush (going by the prominent chest markings) and shape of the beak.

Re: Lost baby blackbird?
I have not seen a thrush around the office. They are quite rare these days.
I was able to get quite close and used flash as it's quite gloomy this afternoon here. The lens was at 120mm (full frame equivalent).

We have Thrush visiting regularly, always have done. The Blackbirds and Thrush sometimes fight each other for the sultana tray but they all get their share. They watch each other from opposite fences and one moves in as the other moves away.
I still think this one's a Thrush. I think it's a Song thrush (Mistle Thrush are more rare).
Cue Mick Johnson for the definitive answer. C'mon Mick!

Never nice to see these things happening though.

Neither are common round my way anymore although I did photograph a Mistle Thrush in the garden last year. I do get a lot of Fieldfare, Redwings and just the odd Song and Mistle Thrush about this time of year. They all seem to appear at the same time.Mick............

We had some excitement today though - we had a Goldcrest visiting. David was up a ladder pruning back the Bird Cherry trees and it came onto a branch to watch him. It was quite close to him too! No photos, neither of us had a camera handy - too intent on safety with the ladders, saws and pruners!
I think I may have seen it a year or so ago but wasn't certain. There was no doubt today though.
