    Re: Emily

I like it. Just been looking at the larger size version on flickr and it's even better.

Very nice collection over there. Were they modelling for you or was it a genuine, real-time wedding? Either way they're nice pictures.

      Hi Pol

These are not from a real wedding just a shoot I had set up. The idea was that I needed photos for portrait competitions and such like. I have not been doing much in monthly club competitions but want to enter some of the bigger end of year ones. There is a long story behind all this but the sort story is the dress I had given for free, the make up was done by a pro make up artist who wants some photos for her website I was also able to gain access to two Church's and a stately home as well. So we spent about four and a half hour's yesterday going from location to location doing the shoot.

I am pleased you like the set on my flickr site and thank you for the comments.

I've been spending a bit more time looking at the larger versions of most of the others now and you all did a great job imho.

I'm no expert, far from it, but what I see there are some lovely exposures, beautiful colours and excellent skin tones. The makeup also looks superb and the models were also did a great job in all those beautiful locations.

Emily even did a good job looking like a slightly nervous bride 'waiting to go to the church' in one or two of them.

          Thanks again pol

Thank you for taking the time to look at the other photos and the kind comments. The couple as they are boyfriend and girlfriend did do a great job. Emily is only 17 and Chris is 18 this coming weekend. She loved having the makeup done and that worked out well as for when the shoot was over she was going out for her sisters birthday meal. Emily did get some nice comments from onlookers at the stately house and also on the cliff locations which went down well

Oh and like most people I have a facebook site. Which is how I set up these shoots. I have added a few different photos to that site as well if anybody wants to look. It can be found here.

            Hi Peter

I have been looking at the shots of Emily and agree with Pol there are some lovely shots particularly the posted one here and also a similar one holding a bouquet.
I note you took these picture for a club competition (we call them merits comps at out club but what's in a name)
Club judges like to criticise the images before them, well that's what they are there for isn't it.
So what is he/she likely to say about your picture posted here.
Loss of detail in the hair will be high in His/Her thoughts also no definition where the hair and shoulder finishes and the black background starts. The ear is not fixed to anything, the nose shadow is a little heavy and not very flattering. These points can be worked on in Photoshop easily enough without loosing the mood you have achieved.
I think by lightening the dark side of the face, hair and shoulder slightly just enough to bring out a hint of detail (darken the ear a touch), then lighten the nose shadow. I am talking about small adjustment enough to take the picture from very good to excellent.

That is great feedback and something I will look in to. I do see what you mean it's good to have feedback like that.
