Can you find your really early digital photos? 
Here's one from April 1998:

This was taken on a twist and shoot Agfa ePhoto 1280; 1024x768 (800K pixels) native resolution or you could use a 1280x960 (1.2 megapixels) interpolated mode. The results had a still video look about them and the sample I had produced a noticeable yellow cast.
Before this, I had used various gadgets to make stills from video sources, and I did have a JVC digital (DV) camcorder in 1996, after Elizabeth (pictured above with me) was born.
