As you all probably know, August 15th, or as they call it here, Quinze aout, is the big summer public holiday in France, and in Britanny the opportunity is taken to show off the Breton culture, music, dance, and food. Loads of colour, noise, and good humour.
It is not the ideal event for taking photographs however, spot your shot, get into position to capture the moment, and get a good shot of the back of somebody's head whilst they wave their telephone in the air in front of you. Long lenses are no good either because of the crowds, the best way is to get in amongst the performers but not always possible.
Here are several shots, including a small collage of some of the styles of headware, called 'coiffes', which all identify a town or area very closely.
