.....College Lake Nature Reserve - Bulbourne nr Tring, Hertfordshire.

Anne and I were once again here, this time to try and photograph the larger 4 wing animals. Alas the weather wasn't kind, dry but dull.
I'm pleased to say I am almost butterflied out so you won't see many more from me.

No sheep on the board and they are there.

    Speckled Wood

    Small Copper

    Trapped

Have to say Barrie I think your butterfly capture skills have improved no end and I particularly like the Common Blue on Thistle and the Pink Lady. The other butterfly shots don't do as much for me, I think mainly because of the camera position. I prefer to see more of the insect rather than just the back of the wings.

      Hi Stephen -

Thanks for your kind comments re the improvement. Learning all the time. However, sometimes you have to make a quick grab shot.
Anne and I were discussing this evening before she put hers up over on http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=6274 that perhaps we should show the inner and outer wings too. So it's pleasing to see we note what the pro's do!

      Thanks again.

The common blue on the thistle is my favourite here. The wing pattern and the body can be easily seen and admired
