  • First ever digital picture

Thought it might be a good idea for us to show our first attemps at digital and how we've progressed (if at all)
This was taken with a small Fuji on new years day 2002 , got the camera as a christmas present and hated the idea , i was a firm believer in film and thought that digital could never reproduce the kind of image that slide film did .
Now 5 years on , i've changed my mind and wished i was either 40 years younger or that digital had been around when i started out .
Anyone else care to share? if you've got the pics that is .

    Re: First ever digital picture

    Hi Bob,

My first digital camera was a Jenoptik 2.0 MP that use to interpolate to 3.2MP. The surprising thing was that from all these cheap cameras in that range she was doing somehow a decent job and this is what encouraged me to get into digital world faster. I bought that camera in September 2001, in my late 33 years old, and just before I went to UK, since I wanted to take some shots from all these countries I was driving through in order to get to UK to do a Computer Science degree. This is one from the first shots, a photo I took from the harbor of the village where my country house is located. The boat is indeed red as they paint them initially with 2-3 hands of primer, leave them for about 1-2 years for the wood to absorb and seal any tiny openings, before the final color is applied.

    Regards

    George
