  • Kingfisher.....

    .....well almost.

It is a rare occasion when I don't have my dslr with me and today was one those. At least I was carrying a camera - my Fuji F100fd, which I think has done well.

This bird had found the right spot along the canalside - just dropping in to pluck several small fishes for a late lunch.

Talking of lunch leads me to the reason for not carrying the big bag today - the same for Anne is that we had treated ourselves to a wet lunch at the pub quite some distance from home.

Well done Barrie - In all my years I only think ive seen a kingfisher - just a flash of blue over the water and ' was that a kingfisher ?' You did well to capture it whatever the camera.

You still captured a twinkle in its eye whatever the camera. I would love to add one of these to my collection but alas I haven't even seen one let alone photographed one.

Great capture, Barrie - just seeing one of these birds must have been a thrill. Now you know where it is you can return later with the serious equipment

Brilliant! They move so quickly, and they're so hard to find. Congrats on having captured one on camera.

Thanks all for your kind comments.

We were on a different part of the canal today and saw little to capture - but at least the exercise might have helped lose a little from our tummies.
