During our trip to Northumberland we visited Alnwick Castle and Gardens. The weather was beautiful and sunny with blue skies, but the wind was icy.
There is a big fountain that plays twice an hour and lots of other little water features.
There are notices up all over reminding people of the dangers of being tempted to go into the water and therefore banning any type of paddling whatsoever.
We were on a terrace above one of the features and there was a stainless steel pipe set in a hedge, so I peeped through and this is what I saw:
