Night visitor

This badger usually arrives later at night but he showed up tonight at dusk so I managed to get a couple of photos before it got too dark.

The badger arrived at approximately 8-30pm and he's still eating and drinking as I type here at 9-30. He usually eats most of the food so we often have to refill the tray for the foxes.





Incidentally - I spotted the mangey fox last night and he's very much better. His tail is getting quite bushy again now.

That's a mixture of sultanas and Tesco 'Premium Complete dog Food Chicken & Country Vegetable'.

We've had badgers coming for many years but they've always been more than happy just to eat earthworms, slugs and maybe a few seeds that fell from the bird feeders. Not this fella though - he's a one-off, a bit of a character

The foxes were coming and going and waiting on the other side of the garden for their turn to feed. The badger just carried on working his way through the entire pile of food, drank almost all the water from their supply too. He was there for about an hour and twenty minutes, didn't leave until he'd left that tray spotless and like new.

We refilled the tray and water dish after he left and the foxes soon came back to eat from the new supply. Foxes just take a small amount each so they all get something throughout the course of the night ... unless that fatso badger decides to return for another 'snack'.

Thanks for the update on the fox - your goodies have seen him through.

My thoughts as I typed this was a song we all know 'All things bright and beautiful etc'.

Caught me out with the title...I expected piccies of Foxy.
Lovely to see a Badger though and pleased to hear Foxy is well on the mend
