  • March Hares - a consolation prize

Had the day off work today, so I decided to try and take the advice I've been receiving on improving landscapes. But the weather is overcast and the light pretty poor .

However, on my travels I did come across groups of Hares doing their March thing, and managed to get these images. They're not great photographs, but I just love the way that come March, you see these wonderful animals popping up (quite literally!) around here!

    Regards,

    Neil

You're very lucky to have seen this relatively rare creatures I say lucky, but you made your own luck by going out there and finding them - well done!

Yes - I'd never seen a hare in the wild until I moved here about 4 years ago.....

Good captures - they're slippery little so and sos to try and catch, aren't they!

We have some round here, but everytime I stop by the time I've dug the camera out they've legged it...

I must admit that when I realised they were about, I spent about an hour in the same field, standing VERY still until they got the nerve to come out. Just wish I'd had my tripod with me

Now we know how the expression...Mad as a March Hare...comes from.
I have yet to see one in the wild so I appreciate seeing the shots of others

No, not technically good photographs, but although I live relatively near to the countryside, I don't think I have ever seen a hare, let along photographed one.

                Well done Neil.

                  Hi Neil -

Anne and I were in Norfolk last weekend - lots of touring in open land. I only saw two, one darting about and the other had been stopped by a large marsh harrier.

I would have pleased to have got some shots as good as yours.

                  Regards. Barr1e

Here's the best I could do - a Norfolk baby bunny - one of three born in a litter. The adults completely stripped our friends vegetable patch of rocket etc. last season.

Aww, and how could you begrudge a few salad leaves to our fluffy bunny Easter friend! (time for bed!)
