The Winner - a photo story

A mother and her 3 sons came onto the beach a few days ago. I had permission from their mother for these, she chimped the shots .. we hadn't realised the little fella had spotted me snapping and chatting with their mum but he rewarded us with an unexpected opportunity for a quick grab shot at the very end.

The little chap was fed up waiting for his 2 older brothers to line up for a race and ......

This is what happened ....

The story goes that when digital first came out in the States , the faces and noises the photographers made when viewing reminded some people of chimps .

However the term is in common usage now

So, I thought I would post a piccie of me 'Chimping' (I may have posted this before, but thought it was apt.) Spot the Otter!

Aye - but there were 2 of us chimping when I snapped the sassy little fella on his dinky yellow quad bike (me and his mum). Lots of chimp-like ooooohs and aaahs.

His two older brothers chased after him as he zoomed past the finishing line and gave the sassy thumbs-up to me and his mum. The older bothers were shouting "Awww mum, he cheated, he cheated" and his mum called back "he's not a cheetah, he's just a little monkey" (and so he was).

BTW - I like yer hat, Ben.
D'ya manage to catch any Wolf whistles?

What a brilliant sequence, and great photography, Love the mono and final color, suits the sequence well, and adds final impact. Just shows we should always be ready for the unexpected.

Pol - LOL your writing is almost better than your pics - you really have the gift of humour. I did really like the kid's expression in last picture - so cheeky (hope you told the mother of the dangers of favouritism) -but they are all great and the B&W suits for that location
