  • View From Above - Brooklyn Bridge

In January we were flying over New York to our Caribbean Cruise.

This was 2 days after the Airbus landed in the Hudson River (brought down by a flock of birds).

It was a beautiful day and we could see so clearly. The cabin crew were all interested in taking pictures as they said they had never seen it so clear.

I wasn't sitting near the window, so this picture was taken from the aisle with my ultra compact Panasonic DMC-FX01.

I thought the pilot mentioned Brooklyn Bridge so I looked on Google Earth and it is very nearly the identical picture.

Obviously the quality leaves a lot to be desired, but I was pleased as it was only a grab shot with just a little point and shoot.

I am attaching pix of both mine and Google Earth. You have to guess which is mine.

Thanks Peter, for the equipment, I was very pleased with it. I took about 6, showing various part of the Hudson, but I didn't recognise anywhere else. There were also blocks of ice floating on the river.
